Notary Public
A Notary Public makes sure a person who is signing a document is aware and does so knowingly and willingly.
It is good practice to have medical documents such as Advance Directives/MedicalPowers of Attorney notarized. If you are in a Skilled Nursing Facility an Ombudsman must also witness Advance Directives/Medical Powers of Attorney. Financial Powers of Attorney must be Notarized. Notaries Public charge $10.00 per signature. A mobile Notary Public is one who travels to you and may charge a travel fee.
